Answers to questions many people ask at 65
Medicare FAQs
Do I have to take Medicare at 65?
Not always. If you are still working and have qualifying employer coverage, timing may differ. Confirm your specific situation before delaying enrollment.
Is Medicare Advantage better than Medicare Supplement?
Neither is automatically better. Each path has advantages, trade-offs and plan-specific rules. The appropriate fit depends on doctors, prescriptions, travel, budget and individual preferences.
Do Medicare Supplements cover prescriptions?
Medigap policies sold after 2005 generally do not include prescription drug coverage. Many people using Original Medicare and a supplement also consider separate Part D coverage.
Does Medicare cover long-term care?
Medicare generally does not cover extended custodial long-term care.
Is the guide individualized advice?
No. The guide is educational and does not replace individualized advice or official Medicare information.
